The 14th Edition of
SmartCards Expo 2012, organised by Electronics Today, India's oldest techno-economic electronics monthly journal, now in 44th year, will be held at the NSIC Exhibition Ground, Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi on October 10-12, 2012. SmartCards Expo 2012, is co-located with – e-Security Expo 2012, RFidIndia Expo 2012, BiometricsIndia Expo 2012, e-Payments India Expo 2012 and
IndiaMobileForum 2012, The NSIC Exhibition Ground, with lush green surroundings and huge parking space, is strategically located in the posh South Delhi area, which enjoys very good connectivity from International Airport, New Delhi and Metro Railway Stations and commercial centres like Connaught Place and Nehru Place. Some of the best hotels also happen to be in the close vicinity. Electronics Today is spearheading the Smart Card Revolution in India – First ever International Conference in India was organised by Electronic Today in 1997.
Smart cards, Biomtrics and RFID technologies are now fast penetrating in a
variety of socio-economic applications. Some of the on-going projects using Smart Cards/ biometrics/RFID being promoted by the Government of India include ( with
approximate potential in brackets) : National ID (1.2 billion), driving and Vehicle
registration (300- 500 million), e-Passports (100 million), public distribution system
(100 million), Financial inclusion (400 million), health insurance for BPL persons (30 million). Unique Identification Numbers (600 million) In addition, there are hundreds of other on-going projects (including financial, aviation and security sectors), which are using smart cards, biometrics and RFID technologies.
Concurrently with the Exhibition,
SmartCards Expo 2012 will be hosting
several Technical Workshops and International Conferences, participated
by eminent global experts.
