Electronics Today, India's FIRST Techno-Economics Electronics Monthly Journal, was launched, in 1968, by Mr. S Swarn, who is also its Editor-in-Chief since then. Earlier, in 1967, Mr. Swarn had brought out India's FIRST comprehensive Electronics Directory and Reference book "Guide to Electronics Industry in India". India's FIRST fortnightly Tabloid Newspaper, Electronics Review, was launched by him in 1972, which survived until 1986.	Mr. S Swarn
Electronics Today has several FIRST to its credit: India's FIRST Electronics Exhibition - ELECTRONICS IN INDIA EXHIBITION- was organised by Electronics Today in 1969. Electronics in India Exhibition continued to be held annualy until 1990. Since then Electronics Today is annually organizing focused International Conferences and Exhibitions on emerging technologies in Electronics and Information Technology space. Electronics Today launched INFOCOM, a focused annual event. Under the aegis of INFOCOM, Electronics Today organised several international conferences on emerging technologies. Some of the topics covered were: Value Added Telecom Services (1991), Multimedia Computer and Communications (1992), Globalization of Computer and Communications (1993), Wireless Computer Communications (1994), Electronics Applications in Banking in 1993,1994 and 1995.
Earlier, in 1987, Electronics Today had organised, an International Conference on Convergence of Computer and Communications, a concept which was just emerging.
In 1995, Electronics Today launched COMPONEX, India's FIRST focused exhibition and conference on electronic components, materials and production equipment. COMPONEX was a unique trade show in the whole of South Asia and SAARC region. Componex was re-named as Componex/electronicsIndia in 2000 when Messe Munchen International decided to join hands with Electronics Today. India's FIRST International Conference on Smart Cards Technology and Applications, was organised by Electronics Today in 1997 in Mumbai, followed by a similar conference in Bangalore in 1998. Electronics Today launched SmartCards Expo, India's FIRST international Exposition on Smart Card Technology and Applications in 1999. Electronics Today launched RFidIndia Expo, India's FIRST International exhibition and Conference on RFID Technology and applications in 2004. Other events organised by Electronics Today include: e-Security Expo, International Conference and Exhibition of e-Security applications; IndiaMobileForum, International Conferenc and Exhibition of Mobile Communications.
